  • Congratulatons to Mardi Link who has a new book coming out this spring with the University of Michigan Press.  The non-fiction book, When Evil Came to Good Hart: An Up North Michigan Cold Case, tells the true story of the 40-year-long investigation into the murder of the Robison family from suburban Detroit. The murder has never been solved, and has generated theories, legends, gossip and thousands of pages of police reports. 2/08
  • Ann Bardens McClellan, MW board member and poetry group maven, took home the top juried prized in the 2007 Poet's Night Out contest sponsored by the Traverse Area District Library. Read Ann's winning poem, "Haircut." 1/08
  • Karen Duquette was elected Vice President of the Poetry Scoiety of Michigan at the organization's annual meeting in October. 1/08
  • Stephen Lewis's new mystery novel, Stone Cold Dead, has just been published  by Arbutus Press.  
  • Linda Alice Dewey just received the good news that her book AARON'S CROSSING: An Inspiring True Ghost Story was the #6 best-seller in 2006 for her publisher, Hampton Roads.  Linda invites Michigan Writers members to drop by her Message Board and say hello: http://www.lindaalicedewey.com/forum.htm 2/07
  • Elizabeth Buzzelli  has signed a two-book contract for two northern Michigan mysteries.  The first will be out fall of 2008 and the second in the spring of 2009.  The publisher is Midnight Ink of St. Paul, a 100-year-old publishing house.  1/07
  • Brad Platt's  first novel, Deadstream, just won an Honorable Mention in the Great Lakes Region for fiction. The award was given by the Independent Book Publishers Awards, commonly known as the IPPY award. For more information, visit his website.  Deadstream is the first in a trilogy, so "I have a lot of work in front of me," Brad says. 11/06
