Michigan Writers is a proud partner in YourPlace in the Grand Traverse Region, a new online magazine dedicated to issues of community planning, development and sense of place. The publication features a wide range of articles, pictures, graphics, and short sound recordings about how we relate to this region. Content is contributed by volunteer writers, and Michigan Writers members are encouraged to submit material.
The YourPlace editorial committee has established the following mission statement:
YourPlace is an online magazine about community development and change in northwest lower Michigan with a focus on our sense of place. Our mission is to engage people from throughout the region in articulating our values about place for consideration by the citizens, civic leaders and public officials who craft the plans and policies that shape regional land use.
